Bakery packaging is the only part of the shop that goes home with the customer — and it is usually photographed before it is eaten. That puts three demands on it: keep pastry crisp and bread crusty, look good enough to post, and stay food-safe for something eaten straight out of the bag.
The kit we build for bakery counters
| Flat-bottom window bags | 150–210 gsm kraft or white kraft, grease-resistant, PLA or PE window film, self-standing so the counter can pack fast. |
| Baguette & long bread bags | 60–100 gsm greaseproof paper with a window strip and side gusset, printed along the full length of the bag. |
| Tin-tie bags | Kraft with wire tin-tie or zip closure for cookies, biscuits, coffee beans and loose-leaf tea. |
| SOS takeaway bags | 80–120 gsm for croissants, doughnuts and walk-in orders — the cheapest branded bag on the counter. |
| Pastry & cake boxes | 300–350 gsm food-grade board with window patching and die-cut inserts for cakes, tartes and sliced cake. |
| Café carrier bags | 150–210 gsm flat-bottom with twisted handles for multi-item orders and boxed gift sets. |
Where it is used
Artisan bakeries
Baguette bags and window bags that let the crust breathe instead of sweating inside plastic.
Café & coffee counters
Tin-tie bags for beans and pastries, with a roast date or batch panel printed on the back.
Patisserie & cake shops
Board boxes with windows and inserts — the cake arrives intact and the box ends up on the customer's feed.
Bakery chains & franchise supply
Repeat runs to a fixed specification, colour matched between batches, delivered on a call-off schedule.
What decides the specification
- Grease resistance matched to the product — butter pastry, laminated dough and chocolate all behave differently on paper.
- Window film choice: standard PE, or PLA compostable film where the brand promise demands it.
- Ventilation: where a crust needs to breathe we specify uncoated paper rather than a fully sealed window bag.
- Colour control between batches — the same Pantone, checked against a retained proof, so reorders do not drift.
- Carton packing designed for fragile product: inner dividers and layer counts agreed with your packing line.
- Food-contact documentation for the exact paper and film we quote, not for a generic grade.

Frequently asked questions
Which bag keeps bread freshest?
Paper first: uncoated greaseproof or kraft lets moisture escape, which keeps crust crusty. A fully sealed window bag holds humidity and softens the crust — good for cakes and cookies, wrong for sourdough.
Is the window film compostable?
We can quote PLA film on window bags and boxes. It costs more than PE and needs to be confirmed against your market's packaging rules, so tell us where the packaging will be sold.
Can we print a different design on each bag size?
Yes — each size and each design is a separate print plate. We quote plate costs separately so you can see exactly what a new design adds.
What is the minimum order?
From 5,000 pieces per item for standard printed bags and boxes. Very small formats and multi-colour photographic print carry higher minimums; we confirm the real number with your quotation.
